LighterLife toolkit

Managing your weight is a big job, and you need the right tools to do it.

Overeating and drinking too much can often happen without you engaging your brain. You automatically act on an impulse to eat or drink and before you know it your hand’s in the fridge and the food or drink is in your mouth.

Why do we overeat?

Group work

Your group work gives you the tools to open up a bit of breathing space between the impulse and the action, so you have the chance to make better choices and manage your weight more effectively.

  • It includes techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) – a practical way of identifying, understanding and sorting out common problems. CBT is widely used in the NHS.
  • You’ll also be using tools from transactional analysis (TA), which is commonly used in business and is one of the most accessible ways of finding out what makes people tick.

With these powerful tools you can change the way you think so you can change the way you live – and keep the weight off for good.
