Clinically-proven weight loss programmes
A study published in the Journal of
Diabetes* has shown that LighterLife Total is more
effective at getting the weight off than other approaches
to dieting.
On the 12-month study, men and women with a
BMI of at least 35 were entered into a randomised controlled
clinical trial of different weight-loss programmes, including
LighterLife Total.
They were all placed on a healthy-eating diet,
with the aim of losing five per cent of their body weight in three
months. Yet a massive 85 per cent of participants couldn’t achieve
even this small target.
The 15 per cent who did manage to lose weight
continued on the healthy-eating diet, and the rest were then moved
onto either LighterLife Total or to a high-protein,
low-carbohydrate diet (similar to the Atkins approach) for a
further nine months.
And the results?
Average weight loss for those completing nine
months on LighterLife Total was 5st (31.6kg).
The small number who found success on the
healthy-eating diet lost a respectable 2st 12lb (18kg), but those
on the high-protein, low-carb diet managed to shed on average just
3lb (1.3kg) over nine months.
It’s not just weight loss that’s
impressive with LighterLife Total, either. Blood pressure
and cholesterol levels improved significantly in just three months
for those on LighterLife Total compared with other diets,
indicating real health benefits with the Total plan.
In case you’re worried that on Total you’re
losing more than just fat, the study results also showed that
changes in body composition were the same regardless of the
eype of weight-loss plan – so there’s nothing unusual about
losing weight on a VLCD like LighterLife Total, other than how
effective it is.
Is it scientifically proven?
